Psychological Effects of Premature Ejaculation

Psychological Effects of Premature Ejaculation
According to the lead urologist at the Center for Male Sexual Health, Albany, NY, and board member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) James H. Barada, M.D. premature ejaculation disorder is “the most common male sexual dysfunction, affecting as many as one-third of men worldwide at some time in their lives”.
Other specialists say that premature ejaculation events are more frequent because men often do not admit that they have any sexual problem. Rapid ejaculation is a separate sexual disorder that can bitterly influence quality of sexual life, priligy disturbing the corporal and psycho – emotional comfort and health of patients and their partners.

PE disorder can cut down self-esteem; men often hesitate to start new relationships. PE sometimes leads to concerns that a partner is searching a relationship with another man. Men often feel misunderstood because of annoyance, disappointment and shame they regularly undergo. Women often fear to upset their men or do not even try to help men to correct the problem.
Psychological therapies may help in most cases to acknowledge the problem and start the treatment. Psychological treatments should be discussed with both partners for an overall improvement in sexual and relationship satisfaction.
